HOW TO INSTALL & USE SHINE THEME — STEP BY STEP WHAT'S IN YOUR DOWNLOAD • shinetheme.zip — the main theme (install this one) • shinetheme-child.zip — child theme (optional, for custom code) • Documentation.pdf — full written documentation STEP 1 — INSTALL THE THEME 1. In wp-admin go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme. 2. Choose shinetheme.zip → Install Now → Activate. 3. Install & activate WooCommerce (Plugins → Add New → search "WooCommerce") — it powers the shop features. STEP 2 — IMPORT THE DEMO (RECOMMENDED) 1. A new menu item "SHINE THEME" appears in wp-admin — open it. 2. Go to Demo Import and pick a design variation: Maison (elegant editorial), Noir (bold streetwear) or Fresh (bright minimal). 3. Tick the content types you want: pages, posts, product categories & attributes, products, variable products, menus. 4. Click "Import Selected Content". The homepage, shop pages (Cart, Checkout, My Account) and all demo content are created for you. TIP: Re-importing rebuilds the demo from scratch — use it to reset everything. STEP 3 — CUSTOMIZE THE DESIGN Go to Appearance → Customize: • Shine Theme Design → Design Variation — switch Maison / Noir / Fresh • Shine Theme Design → Colors — 9 color tokens • Shine Theme Design → Typography — Google Fonts, heading case & weight • Shine Theme Design → Layout & Buttons — container width, spacing, button style, animations on/off • Shine Theme Design → Topbar & Social — topbar message + 6 social networks • Shine Theme Design → Footer — about text, newsletter text, payment badges • Shine Theme Pages — every image & text on the About and Contact templates TIP: Colors only override the variation palette once you deliberately save a color — defaults keep the demo look until then. STEP 4 — BUILD THE HOMEPAGE Customize → Shine Theme Homepage: • Hero Slideshow — 3 slides (title, subtitle, button, link, image upload) • Shop by Category / Featured Products / Promo Banner / Lookbook / Testimonials / Newsletter / Journal — each fully editable • Sections — toggle any section on/off and set the order (comma-separated) • Shop Layout — products per row and products per page STEP 5 — MENUS & PAGES 1. Appearance → Menus — assign your Primary, Topbar and Footer menus. 2. Edit the About and Contact pages any time — their content is also editable from the Customizer (Shine Theme Pages panel). STEP 6 — OPEN YOUR SHOP • Products → Add New — cards show a 4:5 portrait image; upload a second image to get the hover swap effect. • For variable products, create color attributes — swatch colors are picked automatically from the term name (Black, Purple, Magenta…). • If product images look cropped after updating, run the demo import once or use a "Regenerate Thumbnails" plugin. DAILY USE & TIPS • Newsletter subscribers are collected in wp-admin → SHINE THEME → Newsletter Subscribers.
